Natural Sweet Potato & Salmon Dog Treats
Okay.. I don’t know how many of you out there are dog moms.. but I am a PROUD dog momma of two beautiful babes. I don’t see any children in my near future - these two are plenty for me as of right now - but I definitely have a habit of treating them like my little fur-babies. I don't know if any of you dog mommas have taken the time to look at the ingredients on our dogs food labels. They’re full of preservatives, chemicals, & other additives that are detrimental to their health & not to mention, incredibly expensive at times.
Just recently, i’ve gotten more into creating my own dog treats from home. They’re not only cost-effective but I love having total control over the ingredients going into them. My smaller dog is incredibly picky when it comes to treats, but these guys are a WINNER. She was absolutely obsessed. They don’t take much time at all, include only 3 ingredients, & are great even for the older pups as they’re a soft texture. They’re a keeper in our house!
All you need is:
2 small or 1 large can wild salmon
2 small sweet potatoes
1 egg
3-4 tbsp Coconut Flour
Poke a couple holes in your sweet potatoes & microwave for about 5 minutes or until soft.
Place sweet potatoes, egg, & salmon in a blender & blend until well combined. Slowly add coconut flour 1 Tbsp at a time, until a thicker, dough-like consistency forms.
You can go ahead & fill cupcake liners, bake it like a meatloaf in a bread tin, or fill little silicone molds as I did.
Bake at 375 for around 30 minutes. Your time may vary. I removed mine when the top was golden brown (& they probably could have used a couple more minutes).
Let your babies devour!
