These tempeh sausages actually come together so quickly and are so tasty and versatile - you can use them anywhere you would use regular sausage patties!
Ingredients
- 8 ounce package of Tempeh
- 1/4 yellow onion, diced
- 2 tsp garlic powder or 4 cloves, chopped
- 1 tbsp nutritional yeast
- 1 tsp maple syrup
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1 1/2 tsp each thyme and sage
- 1 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 2 tbsp herbs (rosemary, oregano)
- 2 Tbsp vegan worcestershire sauce (can omit)
- 1 Tbsp Olive Oil
Instructions
- Crumble the tempeh into a large bowl. Combine all ingredients and mix well until a crumble/sausage texture forms.
- You can taste the mixture and adjust as needed. For optimal flavor, allow the mixture to sit in the fridge for an hour or two to marinate.
- When ready to cook, preheat your oven to 375F. Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto a lined baking sheet. Bake for 20 minutes, flip, and bake for 10-15 more, until golden.
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool. Serve on a breakfast sandwich, alongside a scramble, or any other way you would enjoy regular sausage!
