Magical Sunflower seed Sauce

I called this magical sunflower seed sauce for a reason.. because it is MAGIC. I have yet to meet anyone who does not like everything smothered in this stuff. It not only tastes amazing, but offers an overwhelming nutritional punch, so it’s a win-win in my book! Sunflower seeds are rich in a ton of vitamins and minerals, specifically the B complex, which is essential for an optimally functioning nervous system. They’re also anti-inflammatory, can help lower cholesterol, calms nerves, muscles, and blood vessels, improve detoxification, and can even fight cancer. I could go on, but I don’t want to bore you. Summed up, you have every reason to make this deliciousness and spread it on everything!

Some ways I use this sauce:

  • To dip wraps

  • In stir-fries, rice dishes, & on sautéed veggies

  • On sandwiches

  • To dip veggies & crackers in

  • To marinate/flavor tofu, tempeh, & seafood

  • As a salad dressing

I literally make a giant batch of this, store it in a mason jar in the fridge, & use it on everything. It can elevate any dish or be a super healthful, tasty part of a snack. The picture above shows it on a roasted veggie plate, smothering my baked tempeh. However, i’ll get a new picture updated as soon as I get home to whip up another batch! In the meantime.. you can get started ;)

Recipe:

1/4 cup sunflower seed butter

1 tsp rice wine vinegar

2 Tbsp lime juice

2 tsp sriracha (optional, I just like a kick)

1/4 tsp powdered ginger

1 Tbsp coconut aminos or liquid aminos

2 Cloves garlic (or minced garlic)

1/4 cup water or nut milk to thin

Simply blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth (or you can whisk ingredients together if garlic is minced). Pour into a container or jar and store in the refrigerator. Smother on EVERYTHING.
